LCD or Plasma for 80 - 100k

A friend needs to purchase a 42" LCD for his office. Need full HD ofcourse

Main purpose:

  • Presentations
  • Animation Demo reels
  • Occasional Gaming
Input will be

  • DVD
  • Laptop
Which is better in this case? LCD or plasma? Please suggest which brand/model.

Will projector be better in this case? Am not sure about projector though coz the place may not have enough space.

You're not going to get a full HD Plasma in that price range. LCDs - Philips 7482, Hitachi S01. Besides, an LCD will be better for the applications you've mentioned.

The Panny PY700 42incher plasma is a Full HD I believe???
That was for <65k; :)

LCDs're suited for the apps thats another thing;

....then LCD it is...please let me know which models are worth picking w/ approx price. Budget is no bar.
 
For presentations and Gaming the LCD will tend to be better (Based on first hand experience).

Look for a Sony X Series or the Hitachi Gannu mentioned.

I meant plasma actually.. where are you getting a PY700 for 65k?
That's an awesome price. You sure you don't mean the PV7?

IIRC its the PY700. [Err.. Am I confused now??? :ashamed:]

Anyhow LCD is the best bet and its wise to get the Hitachi which aint as pricey as the Samsung or LG; :)

PS: Arya, where u from??? Enquire at Croma n Reliance Digital; :)
 
hey buddy.. jus go out an get him a hitachi (ta full hd lcd is for 80-85k) as far as i remm (i enquired bout a month back..) full hd glory +sips panel! :)
