Nvidia's latest offering is the 7800GS - the only Geforce 7 series chipset based card that is available on the AGP platform is now available from Leadtek.
Nvidia holds that this is good news for those still using their older AGP platforms. Instead of upgrading to a PCI express solution, features like Cine FX 4.0 and HDR are available on the AGP platform providing an easy upgrade solution.
The card features a full 256 bit memory interface with GDDR3 memory clocked at 1200 MHz. The core features 16 full precision superscalar pixel pipelines and is clocked at 375 MHz. This means that owners of AGP slot motherboards can now enjoy high intensity graphics and blazing fast gaming at no loss in visual quality. This card can be used in any AGP 8x motherboard, so it is an easy upgrade path.
The 7800GS supports Shader model 3.0 (direct X 9.0c) and Open GL 2.0. It features CineFX 4.0 and Intellisample 3.0 HCT. The Leadtek A7800GS TDH also features an HSF solution that cools the GPU.
The card features two bundled games - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Prince of Persia: The Warrior within - which are 2 of the latest action games and according to Nvidia show off the capabilities of this card well.
The street price for the Leadtek A7800GS TDH AGP is Rs 20,500 and is available with Zebronics with a 3-year warranty.
