Legacy Application compatibility for Windows OS

Hi,

Here is an official M$ hotfix that updates the respective OS:

* Windows Vista

* Windows Server 2008

* Windows 7

* Windows Server 2008 R2

for compatibility to legacy software. Also enables old games to be run. The full package can be downloaded from here. It also contains the list of applications that it will 'enable' to be run on the above OS.

Note:

This will show up as KB976264, under installed updates. So do verify from your installed updates, before deployment. Also it can be streamed using the LIVE Windows update.
 
Good information.

People with Geniune copy of OS, this update should get installed automatically or prompt you that new updates are ready to be installed if you have not disabled Automatic Windows Updates.
