It was available for 330 $ a month back, it does heat up according to some reviews. Any users with first hand experience?

Saw that the X120e is going to Rs. 21,007 on Flipkart. AMD dual core,2 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD. No OS though. Good deal right? You get the rock solid build of a Thinkpad in a netbook package. Battery would be a bit short, but overall, the price is pretty cheap considering it was around 30k a few months back.

Yep. It's a E350 + all the ThinkPad stuff. This one however doesn't have a Roll cage so not a 'true' thinkpad

Looks to be a good 11.6" buy when compared to the M101z or vaio consumer class machines in the 20-25k category. I've tested one for a bit. the screen & keyboard were good. the machine felt solid too. I had a lil gripe of it not having a standard ThinkPad latch & the touchpad buttons being too close to the edge.

^Ravishing price that

How does this processor compare to 3 years old Core 2 duo processor (1.5 Ghz) with 8400m?

Thanks to all contributors to this page. I ordered a x120e from flipkart & got one delivered within 2 days... (Flipkart continues to surprise me)

The ThinkPad X120e I ordered is sporting an AMD E-350 processor, 2 GB RAM, 320GB Harddrive, 11.6†1366x768 screen along with webcam, 3 usb ports and a HDMI port. I placed an order for an extra 2GB DDR-3 1333 as well to make it 4GB in toto.

The Unboxed experience:

The box didn’t really contain too much. A ThinkPad charger that works with all ThinkPads (tested successfully on an X220 & X301), a 6-cell battery and the laptop itself. There was minimal documentation & not like I’d read it anyway.

The Laptop itself did not come with Windows. Which is awesome cause that meant no bloatware. Yay!

Initial reactions:
  • The build quality is splendid
  • I’ve always liked the ‘ThinkPad Black’. This one doesn’t disappoint.
  • The keyboard has a good feel to it
  • It has a matte screen. I’ve always disliked the glossy ones.

Now for setting it up…

Can you tell me does the battery pack comes out in the backside ? thanks.

Yes. It's a 6 cell battery.. Sticks out the back

MSI U270 18.5k use code : LBSALE to get 1k off http://www.letsbuy.c...--black-p-21736

Similar specs to the lenevo but with one year extra warranty + 8gb pendrive & Anti virus free & Window 7 Home basic

Well... A few years ago I tried the MSI wind netbooks.. Significant flex around the g..k keys. Hopefully that's been fixed.

Anyways if it's the cost alone then the sulekha 17k deal for the x120e is awesome.

Folks, ran a couple of HD video checks & 3Dmark05 tests on the X120e...

Overall: it played videos without any trouble and struggled with the 3D tests
