After a long long and Long working months, finally i am thinking to get some rest and planning to head to Goa in around end of Jan

Can anyone suggest some beach, where crowd is less, and where private cottages is available for rent. I am a dry person, so can leave without any alcoholic drink. Not much interested in sight seeing, just want to go there and have some rest,so that i can get fully charged for upcoming V-day :yahoo:

Required needs : Wi-Fi and Spa will be more than enough :yahoo:
Tour- most probably 4-5 days

South Goa. Benaulim etc are all much better places to be if you want to get away from the mad crowd that hogs the North shores.

I suggest you avoid North beachs, they can be very crowded throughout the year except during the Monsoon. South beachs are more beautiful and lonelier but sadly its also a little more expensive as far as residense or hotels go. Also, Goa will still have a lot of 'angrezi' crowd till end Feb as these people usually stay back untill their own countries warm up. You can walk along stretchs of Baga and Candolim (North beachs) and literally find yourself sourrounded by foreigners lol. Also don't expect hot ladies, they're mainly old retired couples touring the world :P

Can't say for hotel or room rentals as I have my own place there but vehicle rentals should be cheap now.

South Goa, definitely. And if you know the tricks of the trade, you can find a cheap place in South Goa.

I stayed at a cottage on Agonda beach for 1 night. It was the best time I had in Goa. I slept outside and it was just perfect. I loved this place so much that I even asked one of the guys what were the land prices like over there:D

However there was a grand party that night which had been cancelled due to the death of the local tourism minister, so it might not have been that quite.

The best thing I liked about this beach was that there was no market or restaurants where people come to flock daily. Just rows upon rows of cottages where one can stay.

Wow seem southern part is being loved by everyone :D, @rdst_1 is your cottage is situated at south too ??. also can someone clarify how is the spa/massage in Goa :)

Also for water sports, is there any less crowded beach :D

Check either Grand Hyatt or Kenilworth Beach Resort. Both are within a mile of each other and have direct beach access. The beach (Utorda) is also very pretty. I've been at both places and they are nice.

Both have a spa but its obviously on the pricier side since they are 5 star properties. Also if you decide to go there, don't miss this shack called Zeebop by the Sea. Its outstanding.

@Chaos
You must mean Park Hyatt? its near to kenilworth
Grand Hyatt is a business hotel and is 20km far from utorda
Alila diwa would be a good bet in south goa, if one wants 5star facilities, but dont want to pay as much!
Their beach is very clean and pretty secluded !

But Park Hyatt , has access one of the best beaches I have seen at goa . But Rates can be pretty High
hardly anyone other than the Inhouse guests of the Hyatt comes there!

Yeah Agonda is in the South as well. Pretty close to Palolem beach. When I was there the cottages used to cost like 1300 a day so pretty cheap. It was a no frills cottage with a mattress on the wooden floor and an attach but open roof bath at the back of the cottage. The food was great and economical as well.
Every other popular beach apart from those which are close to 5 star hotels have markets or restaurants operating on the beach. But Agonda was the only one of the ones I visited which didnt have a market or restaurants. Also Cavalossim beach was pretty quite, but I didnt spend much time over there so cant say for sure.

Yep sorry meant park hyatt. Both Kenilworth and Park Hyatt are right beside each other - its walking distance on the beach and around 1.5-2km by car. Yes both are pricey - but then thats how goa is these days unfortunately.
