LG claims that it uses s-IPS panels in all of its new range of LCD TV including the LH20 series. However, there is a small * somewhere in the official news which indicates S-IPS panels have be employed only for 32"+ models

Ok, usual marketing BS. But, they just took it a notch higher. In the official LG website, the 22" model 22LH20 LCD TV claims to have a 10-bit panel and achieve 178/178 viewing angles. However, it does not mention using an S-IPS panel.

So, is it just a TN panel with hyped up specs? then how come 10-bit? Can it actually achieve 178/178 viewing angles? And its market price is only around 15.5k rupees

I am desperately looking for an IPS panel. I can't seem to find the Dell 2209WA. I couldn't care less about HD.

That's probably an IPS panel as well. No TN panel has/is advertised with a 178 degree viewing angle

Looks like one of those "too good to be true" propositions. A 22" IPS panel with inbuilt TV tuner and speakers for sub15k seems highly unlikely.

I suspect they would actually be selling the 22LH20R instead of the 22LH20 advertised. :S

Ebay India also sells the aforementioned 22LH20R by advertising IPS-oriented specs of 22LH20

I am just hoping against hope hopen that this is indeed an IPS-based LCD. But, the rational half of my brain tells me that there is something fishy going on here.
