Need some help! Anyone read reviews for the LG W2242S or actually owns it?

Saw it in stock at Reliance Digital for Rs. 12,899 /- (same price as the 226WTQ which is also in stock :S)

All i was able to make out was that the W2242S has a dynamic contrast ration of 8000:1 and a 5ms response time as compared to the 226WTQ which has a 5000:1 contrast ration and a 2ms response time.

I am planning on picking one of these two next week, but not clear on which is better..

Any other decent choices at the same price range?

Get the 226WTQ..

A couple of members here have the model and is indeed a good one. :)

Dont be bothered abt the 'Dynamic' CR part; Just a marketting gimmick like PMPO .

Lol, LG launched an LCD TV with a 50000:1 DCR. ZOMG.

@Gannu- what bout the ghosting issues and stuff? was reading about the ms paint test with the grey background + red circle on the 22wtq which shows ghosting?

Anyone faced that?

Yup, even I'd heard abt the ghosting but not much of an issue either.

Here, AFAIK Kalesh and Supra has the 226WTQ. Wait for them to pour their inputs. :)

i guess W2242S and L222W are both 5 ms panels with no DVI input. Infact I bought the L226WTX last tuseday...will try and do some benchmark tests if you like...once i go back home that is :)

I mean L226WTQ :P

for day to day work it has been a pretty good buy ..all my friends are impressed with it..watched a couple of movies and played a low end game like portal on it at maximum resolution...i'm not a hardcore gamer so cant speak of the ghosting issue etc... but till now it has been pretty good on XP.

But mind you I had a 15" CRT before i got this so you can discount my experience a bit...maybe some of the gurus can answer better...however I went for the l226 only after readingthe positive remarks on TE.

How can you even think of the W2242x when it doen't have a DVI.

As of the ghosting issue of the LG its not present anymore at least in my piece as it has the latest 2.10 firmware. Some negligible ghosting is visible while using the Analogue VGA i/p when i was testing it in Croma with my laptop...but after buying it and connecting it through DVI alas no ghosting was there :D

Anyway if u have a lappy , take it to Reliance digital for testing the LCD. They do allow it as I have taken mine as well once. You can do full testing before buying it.

But if u ask me....I will tell...get the LG L226WTQ. Its an underdog....very good LCD for its price :D

I am personally using the l226wtq and didnt find any ghosting issues instead it lot faster than a viewsonic x series as well the dell ultrasharp.

for better quality of the picture go for the latest monitor drivers and if you are using nvidia graphic card than in color management increase digital vibrance to 20-30 %.
