^^^ it doesnt matter how much he paid.. now a days i think he should be expecting to get around 30k in my opinion.. as the warranty would already be out.. an also the resolution has become quite outdated.
if its working well id suggest u hold on2 ur lg and use it for just watching dish/ tata sky and use the new sony in another room.. else give it to some relatives to use for the same purpose.. selling it would be a sheer waste if it works well.
