LG had announced its L-series range of Android smartphones last month but it missed mentioning a dual-SIM version of the L3, which is now available on Flipkart for Rs 8,299. The Optimus L3 Dual, as the smartphone is called, boasts features similar to what most sub-Rs 10,000 Android smartphones offer these days. It runs on a single-core 800 MHz processor, a 3.2-inch display with a QVGA resolution of 240×320 pixels, 384MB of RAM, 1GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB of expandable memory, a 3.2-megapixel camera, dual-SIM capabilities and a pretty large 1,500 mAh battery. Like most devices in this price bracket, the Optimus L3 Dual runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Optimus L3 Dual resides in a price bracket which is not only overflowing with a number of devices by local OEMs like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, but also global smartphone vendors like Samsung. It will compete directly with likes of the Spice Stellar, iBall Andi series of phones, the G-Five A86 which admittedly has superior specs than Optimus L3 and also the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos.
