Monitors LG49gr85dc-b 49 super ultrawide

You can share it now. Also are you looking for a monitor arm?
Yes, I am looking for an arm. Do you have any suggestions? :)
Where? When? How?
LG launched their new line of OLED monitors in India on 8th I guess, so they were running a clearance campaign from dealers to offload their old flagship monitors at discounts varying from 9% to 44%. I managed to fill in an interest form and was contacted by their team. I placed my order on the 5th of July, and I will recieve it by 11th July (probably).

Well done! Sim Racing?

Absolutely horrific experience with LG india so far, order placed on 5th of July for my monitor.

As per the delhivery tracking link, the executive goes to pick up the shipment but the shipment isn’t ready for pick up. As of yesterday the delhivery tracker says shipment cancelled by merchant. I have been raising complaints with customer care, since 3 days and each time they tell me I will get a call from a senior rep in a few hours but nothing happens thereafter.

The order status on the LG site shows product for delivery but tracker shows shipment cancelled. I even requested for a self pick up since it was being shipped from the same city as the delivery address but no help given for that either.

I am shocked to see such pathetic customer handling from the brand such as LG. I still have no clue as to where is my monitor and what to do with my prepaid order.

After 2 weeks of arguing relentlessly with LG customer care, received my screen yesterday in a horrible condition with box broken from angles and tape torn off

Since I had already sold both my monitors, I had no choice but to accept the box as is, as long as the screen was intact.

I did manage to set it up late last night, will share some photos later today.

All in all - I would NEVER again purchase from the LG India website and have ZERO hopes of quality customer care. But I have no doubt that I can’t get a better monitor anywhere close to 65k new which is what I got this for.

The frustration is understandable and I'm happy that they delivered. As for the condition of the box, that seems on par as it's a unit set for deep discount sale/liquidation and these monitors are heavy just lifting them ruins their boxes. But store that box safe as the sytrofoam is crucial for curved monitors.

Post some pics in show-off thread when you have time. I'm curious to know how's the ghosting (if possible can you post pics of this test). Check for how much it smears, any dead pixels and backlighting bleed (borders) or VA glow.

I have saved the box in as is condition in case I plan to sell it later on. The styrofoam is of surprisingly good quality.

I have placed an order for the monitor arm, once that arrived in a few days, I will post it all on the Showoff thread.

My earlier monitor was a samsung g7 1440p 240 hz VA and another g7 neo 4k 165hz VA. I would place this between both of them. There’s little to no ghosting , no dead pixels , and very little backlight bleeding. The only downer I would say are the dimming zones, definitely not as crisp as the Samsung panels in that area.

I would place this between both of them.
That's great given the other two are some of the fastest VA monitors. Post some UFO ghosting pics in show off. How does it handle smearing with white/gray text on black background?
As for the dimming zones, being edge-lit that's one of the reason these are being sold at half the price among similar models. This year, mini-led backlight models are going to show up in market apart from oleds, if this is any indicator.
