Yes i read somewhere about the trackpad being tacky, may be some FK review. But my dad uses a separate USB connected mouse which also has number keys on it as his work involves extensive use of numbers. In fact he rarely uses the mouse functionality on the laptop as he never even opens any folder on PC (yeah that's right). All he wants is on desktop, the main program icons.

Tally, some society software (eSociety) etc wont work and chrome book works on internet only i think and assume in my case internet is not available at all.
And 11.6" is too small and even 13.3" is not acceptable.
14" is minimum.

boring but light-weight. if weight & portability is primary, go for it.

for long term use, i would personally prefer the i3, it kind of protects you with a decent spec CPU for 3 years! trust me if the difference is 5k, its well spent

Guys the Lenovo S400 59-356394 is not available on FK through WS Retail anymore and not sure when it will be back in stock with them. Other sellers do not ship to My location in Mumbai.
Ebay is another option i am looking for. Anyone who has purchased laptops from ebay can recommend some good seller ?
Anywhere else i can get this cheapest ?

Bought this from ebay.in. Did all the setups and installed windows 7 and the softwares my dad uses. Like Tally etc.

The seller wasn't exactly a power seller but seemed genuine. I did call him before ordering and he promised to ship the laptop the same day i ordered and he did ship it on same day. Anything specific you want to know ?

Na, just in general. I mean i never got duped in Ebay, but since some posting by TE members about their experiences in eBay, I have started to get wary.

Mine was a top rated seller (whatever that means) and had more than 100 or so feedback so went ahead with it. sabirplanet was the seller in my case.
After my order, the seller called me to let me know that there is a chance octroi might be charged since shipping address was in Mumbai.
Packaging was good, not bulletproof but still good enough.
