Limit access on LAN??

My friend is using Airtel broadband with LAN (no wifi). A person only needs to connect the RJ 45 to a LAN Port and Laptop/PC gets access to internet. But, she has realized lately that some of her friends are using the Internet when she isn't at home which is creating excessive Bills. Is there a way that only 1 laptop be allowed access to the Airtel ADSL Modem and that no other Laptop be allowed?

I could have helped her if the Modem would have had wifi but I am clueless about LAN security. Any suggestions???
