I Currently Have A Home 1000 Plan Which Offers 5 GB Of Data Transfer. The Problem Is,I Normally Exceed This Limit By 5 Or 6 GB,Resulting In A Hefty Payout Later.
Am I Better Off With The Unlimited Plan?It Offers A Base Speed Of Only 256 KBPS...That's A Bit..Slow.The Download Speed's Got To Be Nearabout 25-30 KBPS,Right?
Should I Migrate?Kindly Advise...

ofcource...

if u r exceeding ur limits every now and then. then it is no brainer ki u shd change ur plan ..

and the speeds hit 30kbps reg .. provided u hv a decent Seeder base ..

Why not just excercise some self-control and que the hefty downloads for between 2-8am?
You can easily download more than 2gb during those 6 hours, leaving the rest of the day free for other stuff.
While on UL900, you will be able to download 2gb per day only if you keep the downloads running 24x7, leaving little room for other things.

If you still keep exceeding the monthly limit, do what I did - get two H500 subscriptions :P
The costs work out the same as UL900, speeds are skyhigh, and the collective monthly limit of 5gb doesn't hold you back as much.

@saumil, are you able to combine the transfer speeds of the 2 connections you have? if so, what software are u using for the same?

Between 2-8?Mainly 'cos My Father Doesn't Think,Putting It Mildly,That The Computer,Or More Specifically The Internet,Should Be Used At That Time Of The Morning.

any specific reasons? Technically there is no prob in that (apart from the PITA of scheduling the downloads in the weired hours)

Getting two connections is out now.. they seem to have tied the phonelines with the accounts :( is there anyway you can get two id's on the same phone line??

Well, I already had 3 phonelines and 2 of them are now broadband enabled.
Ofcourse I only use 1 line for both accounts by changing the userid and password.

Just set up the scheduler in your torrent clients and download managers. It's not as if you will be sitting on the computer during those hours.

Totally agree with that... 5gb is a decent amount for normal surfing and watching a few video clips here and there... on an average that works out to something like 180mb per day... that pretty good.
And if your dad has a problem wat you can do is always schedule in your bios to switch itself on at a certain time... and then schedule your computer to shut down at a certain time. Leave the monitor off and your dad wont know the better. Unless of course you have a cabinet with like 20 led fans and ccfls sticking out of it.
I myself manage to stick to my 2.5 gb mayb exceed by like 100 200 mb sometimes... actually come to think of it... my days with sify's 150 mb per day on their so called unlimited plans must have helped.:hap2:
