No there could be other reasons too, Since my job require me to use Linkedin all day and I have been doing that for past 8 yrs I know what are the recent changes. Now Linkedin is offering API access which was never the case and the search that would take 2 hours takes only 5 min so I believe this breach might have got something related to API (i maybe completely wrong though)

Rofl, wasn't this like the second or the third time they are hit by this? Linkedin is probably where more personal data is available compared to any other social network.
