Linksys WRT54GH Wifi Router + Beetel 220BX1 MODEM + AirTel Broadband - Please Help

I need help from networking gurus right here :)

I want to buy: eBay India: Linksys Cisco WRT54GH Wireless Wifi Router SpeedBurst (item 150514250657 end time 08-Nov-2010 23:18:32 IST) . My Laptop's Card type is as follows:

So I want to know that the above WiFi Router works with my Laptop or Not? :ashamed:

Also I have got AirTel Broadband Connection (2 Mbps; 1299/-) and have Beetel 220BX1 Modem

So kindly tell Linksys WRT54GH Wifi Router + Beetel 220BX1 MODEM + AirTel Broadband in combination works or Not?

Kindly help me as I am a Big Noob in this Router and Networking Thing :ashamed:

That seems to be a basic router, which should most probably work. Thats not a router + modem, so AFAIK, it should work without any problem. But then again I dont know much about BSNL and that modem, so wait for others reply also.

IMO it should work flawlessly. But since you have a N adapter, you can opt for a N router for good performance and range if the price difference isnt much...

Hi mrintech,

If your usage is usual browsing, download, etc then,

you can go for any basic N router, it will work with your ADSL. Belkin,Netgear,D Link will be cheaper.

And pls note that check the details of the router thoroughly before purchasing. many brands (even a reputed one) give model name including the letter 'N' confusing the customers with N router and G router. check thoroughly whether the router is really N type (supports 100 + Mbps lan speed) or g type (suppors upto 54Mbps). The price of a good g router is around 1.5K or less. and N router is above 2.5 K.

from the links in above posts, see the details of the Belkin Nrouter. its actually a g type .

Network Standards 802.11b/g and some n features

.I think the company is fooling the customers. make sure that the Wirelss Lan speed is above 100Mbps.

Modulations: 802.11b: CCK/QPSK, BPSK

802.11g: OFDM/BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM

802.11n: OFDM/BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM
