Audio Logitech X -540 bass dial stuck ...

Hi,
The bass controller dial on my logitech x540 is rotating allright but it does not give any adjustment to the bass level, like its gone dead. Any remedies to correct it ?

And one more, I was wondering if the bass (boomy) level of the woofer could be somehow reduced as I want a tighter kick then a loud boom while listening to music.

Any inputs welcome :D

Speakers are outa warranty so no problem in tweaking around.

Stuffing some old socks into the port of the sub will reduce the boom. Ensure that the port isn't facing the wall and move it away from the corner of the room if you have it placed this way. Reduces the boom effect considerably.

As for the dial, the pot may have gone bad. Open up the pod and find out the rating if it is marked. Buy a pot of the same rating from your neighbourhood electronics shop and replace it by soldering it. If you aren't well versed in soldering, get it done from an electronics repair shop. :p

Hey Gannu,

Yes indeed mine is placed in a corner but the port is facing the open space and not the wall.Let me try the things you mentioned. :)
