13.5K robbery...
10~11.2K max
lovely set, build quality better than the Z5500D, the cabinets are sturdier, and have a more mellow sound to them...smaller woofer footprint, and around 35% less noise (max volume)... a good set :)

IT depends....what is your preference??

Surround sound or pure music??

If you play a lot of games and watch movies and want to have surround sound, then at that price, the Z-5300 is the choice.

But if you dont do much of either and listen only to music, then the MX5021 will be better as most music is anyway in stereo sound....

agree with udit.. surround sound - buy with eyes closed, great build quality, better than the Z5500D IMO. Sound great, but as loggy bass heavy, meaning u need to turn the bass down, when listening ta music...
great for DVD's. woofer is quicker than the Z5500 and doesn't miss close beats as much.

OT - wouldnt a 5.1 too give great sound while listening to music?? or is that only 2.1 can reproduce the best as far as moozik is concerned?

@chic - music has to do completely with the quality of the speakers & nothing to do with 2.1 or 5.1. in 5.1 u can either listen in stereo mode or 5.1 mode where all sound is distributed equally on all speakers.

But I find that if I use Creative CMSS(which basically upmixes stereo sound to 5.1), the sound quality is compromised.

I usually keep CMSS off and music plays only in 2 speakers..... But when I watch movies on a DVD or play games, automatically, all 5 speakers are active.

And of course, when some friends come home, I enable CMSS as none of them are audiophiles(nor am I to be honest), and the loss in quality does not become noticeable enough for them to realise and they are impressed with the sound :P ...

u think there is a loss cause the audio is distributed equally & it somehow doesnt feel right cause it isnt true 5.1

The upmixing algos on the audigy2 suck :P. It sucks even on xfi but then you can tinker around with asio routing and get the same effect. If you use foobar, you can route the audio to ur rear channels too using the asio plugin. No more distortion :P. However there'll always be a drop in audio quality between fronts and rears.the rears use substandard opamps compared to the fronts.

But the speakers nowadays dont distinguish between front and rear right??

I have 5 identical speakers. I can use any of them wherever I like....

nowadays??? says who... the Z5300 comes with a front left, rear right and so on marking... Chaos is right, just try using the Z5300 in an opposite position (swap the front and rear channels) and you'll notice the degrade in sound, holds true for the S750 gigaworks and G500 gigaworks also.

Nikhil isnt the centre channel more powerful than the rest? But whatever it is, I dont think hes talking about the speakers. I think he meant the soundcard.

I'm talking about the speakers too pal... who the F is talking about the soundcard?? ofcourse they have a fixed channel setup except the xfi. The Z5300 have the satellites marked as front left and so on, as do the Z5500D. Yeah the centre of both these is more powerful for both these sets, but no so for the megaworks and gigaworks.

Still cant believe that Z5300 is for 8.5K even with rs 560 extra for shipping
at 9K its a gr8 price for those 5.1's

Thanks for the info
