Hello..... I was reading today in Delhi TOI topic: Long live-in relationship a presumed marriage .... http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...e-Supreme-Court-says/articleshow/34126867.cms and checked other references also, I was a bit confused so wanted readers opinion. Child born out of such relationship will be legitimate, supreme court of India its ok but what I am confused is that then what will be the difference between live-in and regular marriage. I guess live-in concept was created to do away with some pressures that regular marriage impinges. Don't take it in wrong way, The main difference is, In live-in you could have multiple wife legally but it was not possible in regular marriage. it is just a loop hole created to have more than 2 women in a legal way.

I don't know if things have changes in the last 6-7 months. If I remember correctly, even alimony/maintenance is applicable for live-in relationships. Also, there is a big risk of the guy getting arrested for rape (saw couple of news reports) if he walks out of the relationship and she chooses to file a complaint that they had sex only after he promised marriage (applicable for boy friends as well).
