Video Looking for 46" LED/50-55" Plasma

I helping a friend to buy either 46" LED or 50-55" Plasma TV so, need your expert advice on this.
Should he go for LED or Plasma TV? which one would you people prefer?
Please suggest for both LED and Plasma TV

1. Budget.46" LED - Around - 75k
50-55" Plasma TV - Around 55k

2. Viewing distance.
10- 15 ft
3. Sources/inputs such as HD DTH/consoles/stand-alone media players etc.
Digital Cable
4. Preference for plasma TV/LCD TV/LED-LCD TV.
LED- 46"
Plasma - 50-55" (will be taking either one of them)

5. Preference for brands.
Any good brands will do.

6. Willing to purchase it from the grey market?
Yes. (In Karnataka-Mysore only)

7. Ambient lighting conditions of the room.
Normal Sunlight (morning and noon), Tubelight in evening and night.

8. Any other feature you are looking for such as 3D support on the HDTV, DLNA capabilities etc.
(i) Looking for full HDTV.
(ii) Should have USB port.
(iii) should play movies with all formats (esp mkv)
Not interested in Smart TV/DLNA/3D support/Web browsing...
 
Check out the Sony 46W700 should be available in grey market bangalore within your budget.It plays all formats via usb and DLNA.
 
You can get the 42 W800A Sony for 74k on snapdeal. It is 4" short of your needs but the panel is great and comes with 400Hz motionflow.
