Am looking for a decent dvd camcorder. canon sony anything.

budget : USD 450

Sony DCR-DVD403 looked good. any reviews?
 
The Sony DCR-DVD403 looks good. The main disadvantages of DVD camcorders, what I think, is the ability to record only for 30 mins and poor battery life, based on my experience on using a Sony DVD308.
 
i see...so whats the best pick in that budget? does the quality of capture decrease if i opt for tape based cams?
