Hi,

Am looking for a laptop with the following config. Would appreciate any help / suggestions with this,

Battery backup - at least 5 hrs

Screen - 14" (13" ok but not more than 14")

CPU - 2GHz

RAM - 4GB

HDD - 500GB

Good Webcam

Wifi - g/n

Mic

Speakers should produce good vloume/quality sound

Bluetooth

Card Reader / CD Drive optional

OS optional (will get separately if not)

Budget ~ 40K

Should not get too hot when used for watching movies etc,

Main usage is for programming, surfing, reading docs, movies and some light gaming (not a major criteria though).

Any other brand choices?

I think the DELL ones are too costly when taxes etc. are added. and am not very sure about Acer as a brand. How good is it for after sales and general build quality?

Ofcourse Acer laptops build quality is not the same as Dell but if you drop any laptop it will break and also no laptop will break on its own:P
So, just have a look at the laptop in the stores and if you like it then buy it,If you want tank like build quality you have to go with Lenovo Thinkpad series
 
dell usually waives off the taxes so whatever quote you are getting just add 900 bucks to it as delivery charges and you get a better laptop.
