Low budget PC upgrade help

ROhant

Novice
Hi I am looking to upgrade my CPU,Mobo,RAM and if possible a GPU in a budget of Rs 8-10k.

I have
Cabinet
17 inch CRT monitor
KB+mouse
Optical drive
SATA HDD.

Just basic home usage playing games such as GTA4.Will be buying from Nehru place.
Will get a PSU in a separate budget.
I know it is tight but just looking for something to last a year or two.

Thanks

Component | Make | Price Processor |AMD Phenom II 840|4800

Motherboard |Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-US2H|3400

RAM |Corsair DDR3 2*2GB|2000

Total ||10200

If u can burn another 7K, u can get a good GPU + PSU..

With your budget i would advise you to wait for the Llano Quads (~5.5k for the processor but has a 320 shader IGP which is much better than present IGP's for gaming :))

If you want a system ASAP, go for the Intel Sandy-Bridge based system as it has a great lead over most AMD systems --

Intel Core i3 2100 ~ 5500/-

MSi H67MA-E35 ~ 4900/-

Corsair 4GBx 1 1600 MHz CL-9 ValueRAM ~ 1900/-

Sapphire HD5670 1GB ~ 4500/-

Gigabyte Superb 460W ~ 1900/-

It shoots over your budget but its the best out there, else like DarkAngel has suggested wait for Llano to hit Intel in the low end and go for the kill.

Don't go for the AMD Phenom IIx4 840 its an average gaming processor. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=289 / http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Phenom_II_X4_840/12.html

Hmmm... I saw you @Think DIGIT forums welcome to TE.

No question, wait for Llano! GTA IV benefits from having multi-core too. It is releasing this Thursday worldwide. Not sure when it comes to India, but will surely some time in July.

Llano is a good choice but of you want to strictly stick to your budget get a amd fusion e350 based motherboard.6-7 k.it will do for basic gaming and last you a long time.try the asus m1.i saw the price on delta peripherals as 6300 bucks.spend 4 k on the ram and you have a decent system.

^^ The AMD Fusion APU gets trampled on any task above torrenting, surfing, spreadsheets... forget about gaming anything on it until it is CS 1.6 + upgrading is out the window too.
