Graphic Cards Low DX10 Games Performance

Is that a question or are you telling us that its not worth? in any case everyone here knows that buying the low-mid end dx10 card doesnt seem to be worth right now but whoever has bought it just hopes that a future driver update may resolve things.

Low scores in initial DX10 games are to be expected. It'll take a while for the DX10 technology to meture and show returns.
Your better off getting a high end DX9 card then a mid/low range DX10 card.

800GTX is struggling to obtain 30 fps.

Both ATI (AMD) and Nvidia engineers overlooked DX10 games code path optimisations before benchmark release. Peformance is terrible.

Considering affordable 19" and 20" LCD monitiors gamers wanna play at 1600x1200 or 1280x1024. At that resolution DX10 graphic card is really taxed.

economical to wait for a decent performance to come out of DX10 first before any major investments.... than the other way round...

yup DX10 is crappy currently tried Lost Planet DX10 Demo (1280x960, everything max & 4x AA) got 17FPS Avg, Company of Heroes DX10 (1280x1024, everything max & 4x AA) got 25FPS Avg & Call of Juarez DX10 Benchmark (1280x1024, everything max & 4x MSAA) got 15FPS Avg

Are these games just ill optimised or is it something else? The 8800GTX performing so horribly is bad news for guys like me, who have just bought one. Lets hope developers stick to DX9 for at least a year more, and here's to 50+fps in crysis...

^^^Gulp... :(

Even M plannin to invest in a 8800GTX in a few days...

@vandal... Is d experience so bad??? :(

Next thing to happen Game titles developing seperately for ATI and Nvidia architecture. Each company optimising game codes for their own cards.

Recent experience with Halo2 for Vista (uses DX9)

Windows Vista @ 1024x768 Medium Details 20fps
Windows XP SP2 @ 1600x1200 High Details 40fps

XFXGeforce 6800GT, AMD 3200+, Socket 754 1GB

vista has built in support for DX9.

under vista expect DX9 game performance to fall by upto 30%. comparable effect of vista on DX10 games too ??
