Graphic Cards low fps on 6600gt

my config

3000+ venice(939)
Gigabyte K8N51GMF (nf chipset)
512 PC3200 transcend
big 6600gt 128 mb

during game play like nfsmw , quake 4, bf2 , all played at 1024x768
although the avg fps is high above 30 it some time fall below 10fps or even 5 fps.i even tried playing at 800x600,although at this resolution the fps is very high even then some times during game play the frame rate drops suddenly.
whats the prob? am i running short of RAM.i do cose all the application on taskbar and the anti virus is diabled.whats the prob pls help!!!:(
 
i think its because ur ram ......don't know about quake but BF2 and MW really needs 1GB of ram(for max details)
 
yes its the ram. quake4 (doom3) require 1gb ram to work smooth, otherwise while going into new areas or opening doors it skips which causes low fps around 5fps. even fear & bf2 both require 1gb ram.
