Hi
My router has a very low SNR and so I have frequent disconnections. The bsnl person has tried changing the port at the exchange but the SNR hasn't changed. I have tried two separate routers with the same result.
Do you guys have idea on what can I do about this?

Low SNR is due to noise in line. It means your line have some problems. Try to clean Joints in the line. If it does not work ask your lineman to change the line.

WTF? Why is that downstream line rate 21 Mbps? Are you using a 20 Mbps plan or something? Mention your tariff plan so that I can advise further.

Please do mention routers tested with this connection. I suggest to use test connection with Netgear/Linksys router, Netgear is known for working on Low SNR Margin. My BSNL BB also has Low SNR margin but never faced any disconnection issue from the last 7 years. Here my BSNL line current stats.

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2044 kbps 508 kbps
Line Attenuation 10 db 1.5 db
Noise Margin 31 db 22 db

Also BSNL guys can increase SNR on the line through DSLAM but i don't think they will take such steps.

I had this problem. Mostly low SNR would be due to line problem in your home. Ask the line man to give a direct connection to your modem from the DB box. Don't believe them if they say the modem is at fault.
