CPU/Mobo Low Volume On Asus M2N68-AM SE

hey guys im facing a problem. and the problem is that im getting very low sound output from my mobo(AsusM2N68-AM SE).
I dunno the reason why, I have kept all the settings on max. and still the volume is pretty low. :S

Which OS ? Does ur board have the Realtek chipset ? If yes try updating the drivers, that solved my problem on Win7.

it does have a low volume. A friend's cafe has 20 systems using the same board, and the volume is low in all of them. try another OS, or get another board or a soundcard ( even the cheap 300 rupee usb soundcards should do)

Go to Sound->Playback->Speakers Properties->Enhancements and enable Loudness Equalization. This would increase all volumes by a fair margin, except that of windows media player.

This is very weird issue and also sad indeed.

I have heard of issues related to not good sound quality on certain audio chipsets but this one is first time for me. (then again i don't have much experience with onboard sound or GFX :ashamed:)

One friend moved to windows 7 but had some old motherboard and gets normal sound for the 2.1 speakers but no surround when connecting 5.1 speakers. :P

While i absolutely do not doubt your knowledge and understanding of this issue, are all the settings in windows and any other related applications set properly?

And can you please post those links you found on this issue? :)
