Just got an eVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8X to replace my old GeCube ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB AGP 8X card. Also replaced the PowerSafe 400W psu (17A on +12V) with an Antec SP Ver 2.0 350W psu (25A in the +12V dual rail).
The eVGA online expert has recommended Antec TP II 480W psu giving 18A in both +12V1 & +12V2 rails respectively. He has also said you cannot add the amperes given by the individual dual rails in the Antec SP Ver 2.0 350W psu (10A in +12V1 & 15Ain the +12V2 rails respectively). However, the pc is stable now with this 350W psu, even though I could not plug in a single power 4pin molex into the graphic card as recommended, as I have two IDE HDD (not SATA) & two optical drives. I have plugged in the second y power cable with three 4pin molex to my two hdds & the card. The other y cable with two 4pin molex & a 4pin floppy molex has gone into the two optical drices & the floppy drive.
Your comments are welcome, as you using the same psu with a 6800 card.
