Any help? Brand new phone and it was dropped by one of my friends having a look at it :( Any idea how much it will cost to get the LCD etc replaced? The phone does power on and also can see the display, but glass is shattered. Touch works but I think the entire front display is gone so want to get it replaced. Any idea what it would cost or if someone would buy it for parts? Then what can I get out of it?
Thanks

Still waiting......... any help?
What did the official service center say? There should be some mobile repair shops near your place. Check with them for a quote. Be careful though because sometimes they replace the panel with an inferior quality one..

So my wife dropped her Lumia 720 and the screen cracked, however it was functional. When I got in touch with Nokia's authorized service centre, they quoted 8500 for replacing it with a new one, over phone. I was raging red about this. How can the replacement cost so much? I shot out a mail to Stephen Elop:
stephen.elop@nokia.com as I learnt that one guy in Singapore wrote to him and he got the screen replaced for free. I mentioned the steep cost of maintaining a Nokia Phone and that I am and was always a Nokia-fan. So he replied and put me in touch with the local executive and I got the screen replaced at the cost price: which still was about 6K.
:oldman:

But then again, it's a wonderful phone and I could not go for the dubious market replacement for 1.5K. As I've heard that the touch sensitivity is completely compromised.

So take a call. Shoot out a mail. And count your lucky stars!

@creative420. @indy1811. Thanks for the suggestion. Well you know the cost of screen replacement. For genuine parts usually Nokia center is the only option, but the costs are steep. Off internet I have found the price to be close to 15k so was wondering if someone has tried getting it done outside because the rates outside seem to be less than half of that. Thanks
