Guys,Am planning to buy a mac for my dad. He is a **photographer by profession and he uses Adobe all 24 x 7.(the recent version.,am not sure abt the version number) My budget is 50k. Please guide me:huh:. Which one will better.
 
50k ...well u cant get a new mac book for 50 k... u need to spend at least 59k for a mac book and 72k for MBP check out details on apple.co.in

If your dad uses Adobe Creative Suite for professional work then make sure that the apps he uses regularly work well under Snow Leopard. Currently there are several problems in Snow Leopard that are driving DTP Professionals mad. They are mostly in the areas of Fonts (Specifically Type1 Fonts) and Color Profiles.

Though Apple claimed that some of these issues are fixed in 10.6.2, they were not yet fixed properly and there are still issues (Tested by myself). Many professionals have down graded back to Leopard for the time being. So if your dad works with colors extensively and uses color profiles that that is important to him, you might have to get a copy of Leopard to use till the time the issues in Snow Leopard are fixed.

there is only 1 config for macbook, but I guess you can order more memory from apple. I took the default config as given below.

2.26GHz : 250GB
2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB DDR3 memory 250GB hard drive1 8x double-layer SuperDrive NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics Built-in 7-hour battery

Protection Plan: 13k (3-yr warranty)
but you could also extend the warranty and buy protection plan anytime before completion of the default warranty of 1 yr.
 
Buy the PP from eBay US. Its only a number, like an Activation code. From US its barely 5-6K. Also and get the student discount on the MacBook.
