DigiTimes today reports (citing a Chinese-language Commercial Times report) that Taiwan-based Wintek will supply touch screens for a new Apple netbook which is to be manufactured by Quanta computer. The Commercial Times says shipments will start in the third quarter this year.
Analysts are predicting prices to start upward of $700 going by the simple logic that people go out and buy a $450 netbook and (hopefully) pay another $129 for Leopard on top of the OS they already paid for with the laptop. That usually brings the total to around $600 for the same sub-Apple quality-hardware.
