He's Lost it completely...after practically Ruining Sony's stronghold over the gaming arena and potentially loosing to Microsoft, now this madman has plans for ps5,6,7,8--1000+.Hats off to him and his thoughts that atleast showed mankind the face of the greatest console there will ever be i.e the ps2....other then that one cant really find a reason why he cant be called a demented psychopath suffering from Schrizophrenia and severe hallucinations who needs ECT as soon as possible.

Com'on dude you cant just call him wrong...see some decisions went wrong for sony....but dont u think they have made PS3[IMO] future proof....cos even after 3-5 yrs HD wud be in demand....you wont have to get an upgrade like M$ provides for its X360....after 1.5 yrs...buy new upgraded console...lol...Ken Kutaragi is the man who gave us Playstation which I still adore...about PS4...it totally depend upon the success of PS3...also by that time maybe our children would debate like us Xbox720 or PS4???

To be fair, he's not actually talking about the consoles themselves but how he sees next-gen consoles forgoing the optical drive entirely in favor of downloadable games on the HDD which he claims will suit the cell design as it's a network processor.

Also, the PS3 is not future proofed. It's more like they made it future proof to suit a vision of the future they saw and are now trying to enforce on us.
 
Well No doubt about that that future of gaming has HD games. People have been talking about since long now. You cant say they have decided it. There's a huge difference between normal tvscreens and HD ones..
 
@CKNISH...Sony is not enforcing upon us the technology...if you don want; purchase X360. X360 is an best console out there right now...even better in terms of software than PS3...Also IMO BD will be the future & Big Budget Games(Excluding small titles) would need that amount of space in future which PS3 can provide that is why M$ has left that option open by not including HD or BD drive in their Elite.
 
^^No game will need space more than what a DVD9 offers unless all it has is HD FMV sequences. Currently the biggest game in existence by size is flight sim X and even that fits easily on two DVD5 discs. Considering that hardware on the PS3 is not gonna change, there's no way the space on a BD disc is ever gonna be used. Also the PS3 is not future proof. It has an outdated 7600GT class GPU.

@somebodystopme: Exactly what do u mean by HD games? :S. Games can support HD resolutions since the days of UT1 and Quake III :|

unless u don't compress data or like to put 4096X4096 textures on characters ring. Do u knw the cost of hiring ppl who can do HD FMV stuff? Studios can go bankrupt because of them :rofl:.

Considering the fact that the PS3 has 256megs of video ram over a 128bit bus, forget texture size growing higher than 1024x1024. About FMV, thats exactly my point... one one does FMV in games anymore :P.

:O....is sony retarded or just playing stupid? Games like crysis or UT3 will have plenty of 4096X4096 textures...how plain will they look :rofl:
 
Besides, graphics in games have improved to the point where the game's own art assets can be used for any cinematic. In fact, more and more devs are starting to realize that cinematics are the best moments to show of the game's graphical might.
 
The amount of bashing Ps3 receives on the point of its GPU, I don't think this crowd here can ever like the Wii :P

But then again, that is proven by the fact that while Nintendo DS is outselling the PSP by double the numbers worldwide, its only in India that the PSP outsells DS.

Guess we Indians prefer eyecandy over gameplay still.
 
I think that was a bit too modest, Params. Seriously, the difference hardly compares to that of the PSP and DS.

Also, the PSP doing better here has more to do with better marketing and availability.
 
hey just wait FOR 3 years PS3 will be highest selling console .....according to a survey it might be near 75 million units..................i will try to find the link and post it here.iam sure i read it on net........
ps3 is advanced than the xbox 360......in ps3 da developer can to create effects which will be diferent for each game that is he can create according this wish i mean he has to write the libraries(thats why it takes time).unlike da 360 where the developer uses direct x 10 libraries and variates them........ps3 gives more options for the developer.......i know developing a game for the ps3 is difficult because of this reason........it may take some time to now how effectivly to use da hardware..............wait for a year and then compare xbox 360 with ps3 but not now...............do u know even the launch line up of 360 really sucked even worst than the ps3
 
Where do all these Sony fans keep popping up from? Yash, there's just so much wrong in your post that I'm not even going to start but I am going to tell you to stop.
