At last.. I was waiting for this game. The 1st version lacked the graphics and AI which is corrected in this one. :) Can't wait to play.

GTA and Mafia are the games that defined the Sandbox style gameplay. GTA has slight edge over Mafia due to it's huge popularity, thanks to it's 4 main titles. But Mafia has got only one.

And might i add, in the countries like india, people like Offensive gameplays like Mortal Combat, Tekken and not Virtua Fighter. And for the same reason Mafia takes backseat to the GTA. I've seen a hand full of people pwning Mafia and praising games like Sainsrow Total overdose and TrueCrime

Don't fall for its looks. The first part had a bad graphics and AI. But the best thing about is the storyline. One of the best I ever played. They improved the graphics and AI by a huge margin. This is the version what should have been the 1st part.
 
yeah i ve heard that the storyline of the first part was fantastic, so am assuming this one will too be just as good if not better and the graphics are a topping on the cake :)

Are you serious? Do you realize that Mafia was released in 2001? For its time, it had one of the best graphics and AI found in a game. Infact the graphics were so impressive that it brought many GFX cards of that time to their knees. I still remember, I used to struggle playing mafia in its full glory on a geforce 3 which was the latest card those days. Its idiotic to even compare Mafia with GTA. GTA has its own charm but when it comes to realism and immersiveness, it doesn't hold a candle against Mafia.

Yeah, I know all of that. But I warned wingmysoul as he wants to play MAFIA 1 now so that later he can't say that mafia was a crap game. :) I didn't even play any of the GTA series and hence no comment. :)
 
From what I saw it looks stunning. I haven't played the first Mafia, but what the hell, I didn't play any GTA games before completing GTA IV. :bleh:

The physics & behavioral AI are really shaping up for this game. Cover system is well executed too. Now the only part left exploration on is the story of the game.
 
This move of hiding behind solid objects looks pretty fun to me. While doing this , you can also view around, to take your shot as soon as you get up.

I hope this sort of thing can be easily controlled through keyboard and mouse atleast.

Edit: What happens after he gets into the roadblock ? Does he break the bridge and dives the car down the river ?
 
Mafia is a deep story driven game with authentic features - remember how slow the car drive as like real car of during that time period.GTA series is over the top game offering lots of stuff to do (sometimes distracting) and bit on lighter tone.
Its one of the best looking game when it was released.
