Maharashtra wants to charge people WFH commercial rate electricity

now if i say something, bunch of blind believers will descend upon me like a pack of wolves
Yes Indeed.
BTW who is ruling MH? Even in KA everything is high prices but AP & TS are somewhat better I think but power cut in AP & TS villages are horrendous. Here in TN villages sometimes power cut for 8 hours straight. We are fortunate being in a township of DAE so no power cut mostly unless loadshedding is done on certain days of an year.
In AP after the new govt came in 2024,June payment of Electricity bills are reverted to parent site and no more payment through paytm or phone pe allowed. At least AP Electricity Board has its own app through which we can pay but it is rusty like BSNL app.
My father in laws village is one of the Mandal head quarters in Nellore Dist. but there is internet only for govt offices all others see movies either on TV in evenings or on phones via Jio or Airtel. Nobody are using BSNL sims here.

Residential. It was one of my biggest "wtf moment" when I came to Pune at first lol
The traffic/people's driving sense/discipline being the second. I dread that if I stay here for too long, I'll become like them :sob:
I don't know but i like driving in Pune and ofcourse Pune for me is Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Kharadi, Koregaon Park and Magarpatta

okay yeah, those places are nice. My work is in KN and driving there is okay. People behave most of the time, and it's empty anyway (yes, even at 18:00 when traffic is seemingly at its peak, it's rather empty), but, I meant more towards the city. Near the station, or Vanaz (weird), or around the area of that long road complex which was called MH something. Those are worse than KN, but still behave rather well. Then once you get more into the Pune area...
Basically. The farther you move from posh places like KN, Kharadi, Aundh, the worse the traffic situation.

@lockhrt999 @KAKAN thats reallly wild, i pay around 4 to 5 per unit.
Mumbai expensive hai ye suna tha but didnt expect this much disparity in electric charges.
He is talking about Pune City and not about Mumbai City.
Mumbai (power supply by Adani Power) still have low power tariff compare to other city/districts in Maharashtra.

Each & Every Political Party to win elections (especially vote bank type voters) offer free electricity, free water, free bus travel, free Cash, Free Cylinder, Free laptop, Free Bikes, Free Cycles etc, etc. to all (I have no objection for free ration/food to Economically Weaker Section [EWS], provided some concrete things also to be done to bring them out of that poor condition).

Now, election after elections, every party offer such to every state and once won, THEY ALL came to know the real situation of States Financial Health and then they start Increasing Taxes more & More to compensate that FREEBIES from Honest Tax & Bill (Electricity, Water etc.) Payers.

I am having a terrible headache listening to 17/unit cost. What the f is that. All power supplier in Mumbai the same or what?

I thought cesc was bunch of chu...yas.
In Mumbai, the electricity charges are split into fixed charges, energy charges and wheeling charges, so many are misled by looking at only the energy charge. The Adani tariff breakup is below.

If you were to take the average, it is around 11-12 depending on how close or further away you are from 300 units.

So you like off-roading.
Actually Nagar road from Bund Garden to Wagholi is pretty decent for Pune (basically big roads) the problem lies with the smaller ones such as inside Viman Nagar or New Kharadi.
I think driving a sportsbike makes others let you pass them so maybe that's why i enjoy driving, have covered 4.5 km in 12 mins a lot of times.

When we had load shedding about 20 years ago, big industries like Tata, Bajaj had to run their own diesel generators. To discourage this practice, Maharashtra started charging per unit electricity produced by those genets.

We are truly the California of India.

Karnataka exists tho
Nah, Karnataka is poor. Doesn't count.

MH has more cities than KA.
More than a third of tax revenue of this country comes from MH.
MH has more industries than any state.
MH roads are far worse compared to KA.
MH Govt is stupider than KA.

Hence, MH is better suited for the California moniker.
