I disagree. One should be proud, if the product is good and outstanding. being proud just because it is Indian is not of much logic. This way we don't get better. eg cars in India till maruti launched M800.
A professor in my college bought 1st gen Indica, over Zen, just because it was Indian. and ofcourse diesel.
His son was insisting on Zen but Prof. ingnored him. within few month, he realised his mistake and had to live with it.
He niether enjoyed the benefit of Diesel engine, coz he was just commuting in City nor he had the refinement, quality of japnese car.
Very soon the diesel engine started to rattle, clatter like a tractor/truck engine. All the parts started to sqeak and good handling was never there, but ride got worse too.
Newer Indica Vista with 1.4 L Turbo diesel engine is way ahead than the original, ut it still can't match Fiat's 1.3 L MJD engine. even Older 1.9L Diesel engine in Fiat Palio was much better than this 1.4L of Tata.
It's not a pen or pensil u buy today and throw away tomorrow. A car is something u might fall in love and cherish for life.
