Android Making an Old Samsung Galaxy Tab Faster

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab. It's been around for a couple of years now. I do not maintain it much and possibly why it is very sluggish. The touch response is pathetic. Feels very slow and old.

I am looking for ways to refresh it. Does using the Ccleaner app have any effect? Xiaomi has some cleaner app pre-loaded which I find is very effective. Not sure whether there is something like that I can use in Samsung Tab. I try to avoid Factory Reset if possible.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Just try to do a factory reset as most problems will go away I feel.

Get ADB access from developer settings

Disable all unwanted apps - google/xda sub forum for your device

Best short of rooting/custom rom/etc

if ya can root it, it might be possible to overclock the SoC, the battery will take a hit, but it might be worth the performance boost

easiest way is to do factory reset.

another option is to root it, remove some of the bloatware but this sometimes can cause issues like bootloop.
overclocking if its possible.

best option IMO is custom ROM.

Did this yesterday. I observed boost in performance.
Additionally you can disable the UI animation in developer options. By default they are all set to 1x.
