Man dies after playing diablo iii for 40 hours

An 18 year-old Taiwanese man has been found dead after booking himself a room at a local internet cafe and playing Diablo III for 40 hours straight.

Identified only by his surname, Chang, the teenager reportedly didn't eat for two days, and was found by an employee on Sunday morning slumped over a table. After being woken, "he stood, took a few steps and then collapsed". Rushed to hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

While an autopsy is yet to be carried out, authorities suspect "that long hours in a sedentary position created cardiovascular problems", which would ultimately have led to his death.

18 year old man? More like a little boy. Sadly tragic what games can do to some people!

There should be a feature in all MP games that you can't play it for another 10 days if you play it for 10 hours straight!
 
I don't mean to insult anyone but I don't know how to feel for this kid or anyone else who died for playing Video Games for long straight hours. Initially I obviously feel sad on reading about such incidents but the moment I start to think of it, I begin to wonder if the guy was just plain stupid.

Again I do apologize if I offended anyone.

they didnt died for playing games, its not gonna have respawn or load from saved game. they never knew.
they played liked they loved the game more but keeping it straight is not a good idea.
i was scared by reading the second article last year because we(our hometown pal) played just like 10-12 straight in our teenage. hope everyone's fine.
They(kids) should be aware of this!
 
I used to play TF2 for straight 18 hours 5 years ago. I used to play since 2AM in the morning (BSNL Free time 2AM to 8AM) to 7-8PM in the night, then I used to go to sleep at 8-9PM, again wake up at 2AM. :O I know how badly it affected my body. My eyes used to get bloody red. I could hardly open them. Thank god, I recovered myself from this addiction. That does affect your health, your education a lot. I have experienced a similar kind of situation before when I was a teenager. Well, I am really shocked to read 2nd article. Thank god I am okay.
 
@gREen - Sorry what I meant was indirectly died because of someone else's gaming habits. I remember an incident where a kid died because the kid's parents were busy playing Video Games.
