Man to get refund from Flipkart for 1878rs after spending 2 years in consumer courts.

The litigation in the case lasted twenty two months, during which Flipkart argued that its role in the trade was that of an intermediary, providing an online platform for sellers and buyers. Flipkart compared itself to a shopping mall, where shops are rented out but is not liable for products.

My last experience with Flipkart was nothing short of a headache.

i'm surprised he didn't get interest on the money owed to him. companies take 13% interest even if we owe them 10 rupees. here they had his 1878 for 24+ months.
he should be getting around 2398 rupees.

I don't think that he wanted to pursue it. There is no other information but my assumption is he just wanted to prove to these sites that he was serious about taking actions against them.
The sad thing is how long this case took. 2 freaking years! The rest of us would've surely given up halfway. And people who simply spam "file a complaint with consumer court" will now have a better idea of how things work around here. It's easier said than done.

Not sure but I read somewhere in this forum that if you don't have any lawyer the court will provide one for you.
Consumer Court sounds very ineffective. This may explain why these corporate companies like to screw customers without a care of the law.

I don't know about this particular news but news orgs get many of their news from agencies or mutual sources. It's not difficult. Many of the non-exclusive news are like this only.
