Mandriva has today released Mandriva Linux 2009, the new major release of the popular distribution.

2009 is a bold release which brings the new KDE 4.1 as the default desktop, along with a re-designed installer and Mandriva Control Center and many other new features. Other significant updates include GNOME 2.24, OpenOffice.org 3, Mozilla Firefox 3, and kernel 2.6.27. Key features include new graphical in-line upgrade capability, netbook compatibility, class-leading hardware support, and support for working with mobile devices.
I am free these days so if CHD guys are up for this I can order goodies and do the installation part ? What say ?

It will be much like a meet though with lots of installation :P

Sorry for troubling.I thought he need help in Installation, which is not hard work to do.
I can also do this installation part very good. Any way i have edited my post.
 
Actually it's not the installation which is a problem. It's the networking aspect. I was hoping that he lives around here. I want to install Linux in my college computers but can't figure out how to connect it to internet which beats the whole pupose :-(

Well I will try that too. No body here knows the kind of connection being used or any thing. They just put ip address etc in IE itself after connecting wires but the same is not working in Linux (:-(). Will try again soon. Thanks.
 
Its college LAN so may be need to try both DHCP then static IP, Gateway address (if known) to see if it works... you can look into one of the existing PC's settings to get an idea...
