Linux Mandriva 2009.1 Preview and Screenshots

Here are some snap shot of my Mandriva Linux desktop....





Everything improved like multimedia,internet,networking and easy to use interface on NTFS partitions.I have even smoothly played 1080P HD videos with Sempron LE1100 CPU.Lots of other useful utilities are there in Internet/Graphics and Multimedia tools.
 
Icon theme is "DarkGlass_Reworked"

I am unable to find "gstreamer-plugins-bad" in software package can you source direct RPM/Other method to find.
 
Final version!!! Dude this is final. they will keep updating this as the time passes by. However after seeing the screenshots m highly tempted to install this. Howeva i wanted to know that are these screenshot of powerpack or the normal spring edition? Cause i have both of em
 
I decided to give a shot through Live CD and Man this distro worked like a charm! My laptop is a mess of proprietary only components and it managed to configure everything out of the box including wireless! This is a feat that even Ubuntu/Mint haven't accomplished so far (on my laptop). I see only two downside a) Inconsistent repos. b) Poor community support

1. In-consistence ? I find it way better .. They update s.w in it not like Ubuntu you need to add a new repo. for each and every new s.w that comes out :|

2. Mandriva forum is one of the best.. Not like Ubuntu forum with lots of post and members yet no one to answer :P I sill see a lots of thread unanswered !
 
Their forums are run in a very straight jacketed manner.Any dissent and you are branded as a troll and banned. PCLOS had a good number of packagers leave the project. Some of the software that was picked was dated. eg. OOo 2.4, KDE 3.5 etc.

Having said that they are excellent probably best in hardware detection and when they say "radically simple" they actually mean it.
