I accidentally marked a newly formatted non-os drive as active.

And then i read this...

Do not mark a partition as active if it does not contain the loader for an operating system. Doing so will cause your computer to stop working.

Mark a partition as active - Windows Vista Help

Now I'm scared to restart my machine... :(

ki karaan?

edit: I have vista bcd backed up though, would vista dvd repair be able to rectify any possible damage?

Well, just reassign the active status to the OS drive in the Windows Disk Management utility or whatever program your using.

original drive C: which has the OS is still marked as active along with F:

edit:

Bleh.. its boots just fine.

Thats because you didn't marked a Logical/Partition as active instead you marked a different Disk/Physical as active which is normal. Also your BIOS was configured to boot from that HDD..........
