Hello members,

In light of recent events, we have implemented some new measures to ensure that only genuine members are allowed to open sale threads on TE. TE is a community of individuals and not of dealers. We welcome dealer insights on TechEnclave but you are not allowed to do selling in the market.

From now on you will need to fulfill the following to be able to open a deal in trade-zone.

  • Minimum 35 posts
  • Non-negative reputation points.(you start at neutral reputation)
  • You must be a member on TechEnclave for atleast 7 days.

Any member can still reply and make use of the market watch feature. The requirement above is specifically for new sale threads.

At the time of making this post a total of 628 members qualify to sell items in market.

EDIT: By the way may i ask what finally proved as the last straw that broke the back of the camel ..?

Good to see things finally falling in place... i assed the admins/mods about this for like days together some time back. Good to see this implemented finally.

Safin, try putting the restriction: only OP can post in the thread, and only communication via PM. That will really cut down on the thread crapping and price fixing/wars. Just a suggestion.

I must say, the "member for atleast 7 days" is a unique idea :)
 
And one more suggestion which has been discussed, the post the pics with current date and TE username rule, that'll really be an awesome addition.

If not mandatory atleast the members should do it if they can.
 
some steps finally...^_^..

^^so if anyone has to sell his CPU..he first has to take it out..& then take a snap of it..put the cpu back in slot .. apply thermal compound & then HSF & boot computer & post here? .. :P
 
^^^ Hehe, well thats what I thot of too when I was writing that, and thus added that this cant be made mandatory, atleast on all items.

Someitems it can be made mandatory on are :

Phones

PDA's

Earphones/Headphones

Mice/Keyboards

Monitors

GPU's

Mainboards

UPS

Fans

etc etc.....

thats why it should be the sellers resposibility to do the same if it can be done, this kind of behaviour should be encouraged, today 1 person does it, tomorrow 2 will and so on...pretty soon it'll be an unofficial rule.
 
ok...it might be so for some components but not for all the others (like micemadd0in cards etc.)

Its called "etiquette" not secrecy.

Market section is for "private indivisuals to sell off their unwanted old hardware."

Private indivisual X has a E6600 and wants to sell it to get a Q6600. He puts it up for Price A.

One l33t buyer Y decides that the price is unfair... and decides to post "Dude i offer A/2 + 100.... want to sell?"

After that point even if l33t buyer Y doesn't buy the product... X is screwed.... his price point just came down to A/2.

This is not Nehru Place or LR or SPRoad that you argue and haggle with the seller. This is a 1 -> 1 transaction and IF the buyer wants to negotiate, do it in private... so that even if you are doing it for crapping the sale, you CANT... cuz the other potential buyer DIDNT see it.

See my intentions here? This model is being implemented SUCCESSFULLY in one of the largest g33k forums (as well a very small one :P)
