Well, in the looks department, he does fit the bill. But what about his voice?? It isn't Max Payne-ish enough for me
Max Payne was cool. He had a really good reason to be messed up and kill a whole lot of people while spouting overwrought, noir-style dialog about how the rain made him... well, sad. He stole bullet-time from the Matrix and then did it better than any game before or since. The movie version of the game has been in the works for a long time, but we may now have a face for the character. Who got the nod? According to Variety, Mark Wahlberg.Wahlberg is negotiating to play the titular cop who is haunted by the tragic loss of his family and has little regard for rules as he investigates a series of mysterious murders. He finds himself up against an adversary bent on destroying Max and the streets he protects.I've given this one a thinker, and the casting is pretty good. Play the game in your head, and put Mark Wahlberg in there. It fits, doesn't it? John Moore, the direct of The Omen and Behind Enemy Lines, is helming the project.
This may actually be something worth watching after all!
