1600x1200 4x aa is pushing it for a mid-range gpu.
1024x768 4x aa definitely, 1280x1024 2x/4x aa will be smooth too (even in demanding games such as farcry and doom3).

Not in ug2 and chaos theory though, badly coded.
Fixed by turning off some effects.

I personally can't bear 1024x768 even with aa, atleast 1152x864 required.
1024x768 is only good for 15" monitors.
 
Well I prefer gaming at 85 hz anyday over 60 Hz, so in case if you have a monitor which support 85 hz refresh rate at 1280*1024 then awesome...
 
I get 72hz at 1280x960 with the default winXP monitor drivers.
72hz is cool, but even when I was getting 60hz I didn't mind it much in games, unless you like to stare at those ugly static skyboxes in farcry lol.

I prefer a perfect 4:3 over the weird 1280x1024 and my desktop is at the same setup so no irritating pauses while the monitor switches modes between the desktop and games allowing me to fast minimize smoothly when required... owns.
Indispensible when I am alt-tabbing between game lobbys and msn looking for players.

Also almost all wallpapers come in 1600x1200 which downsizes perfectly to 1280x960 (unlike the ugly stretch effect you get at 1280x1024, and if you try to maintain aspect rato you lose side borders which is even uglier).
One more reason to dump 1280x1024.

but then again it depends on the game your playing..
right now i`m only playing
rome total war & medal of honor pacific assault @ 8xs aa,16x as, vsync on , 1280*1024*60hhz
(hmm rome total war a lower resolution as it didn`t have 1280*1024 listed??? i dunno why..)
 
unit size is huge..
so love it.. gonna post screen shots soon if you guys want it that is..
hmm i remember when i played with unit size huge with my geforce 4 mx.. lol i think i was geting maybe 2-3 frames a sec!! lol
 
I cannot play at anything below 85 Hz, my eyes start watering after 1/2 hr and I start getting headaches. I have not tried gaming over 1024*768 lets see will give it a try.. Personally I have no probs at 1024 resolution suits my Video card too. Although I play Doom 3 at 640*480, I am not able to reolve the opengl refresh rates probs yet....
