0-20k mATX to MiniITX form factor change suggestions needed

Hi,

Last year I bought the following config. But I am not happy with the size of the desktop, I want to change the form factor. I need some suggestions. My usage going to be browsing, playing audio/video.

My current config:

Processor : Intel Pentium G3220
Motherboard: ASUS H81-MV3
PSU : Corsair VS450
Cabinet: Cooler master N200 ( I want my new cabinet at least half the size of my current cabinet)

I want to reuse my, Processor, WD 1TB HDD and Corsair Value select (1*4GB ) RAM in my "hypothetical" mini ITX kind of form factor setup.

Option 1: changing the cabinet alone
suggest some cabinet which will fit my PSU. I am looking for mini ITX kind of cabinet. May be slight modification for fitting in my mATX motherboard, if it is necessary.

Option 2: changing the cabinet and PSU

suggest some cabinet with its own PSU.(like https://www.theitdepot.com/details-...ITX+Case+With+90W+Power+Adapter_C5P16739.html or https://www.theitdepot.com/details-...-itx+desktop+case+with+150w+psu_C5P19556.html ) I am looking for some sort of mini ITX kind of cabinet. May be slight modification for fitting in my uATX motherboard, if it is necessary.

Option 3: Change the cabinet,PSU and motherboard.

Suggest some motherboards around or less than 5k. May be like this one
http://www.grabmore.in/products/32103790/ECS Elitegroup Mini ITX DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 Motherboard (H81H3-I).html

question : will Intel Pentium G3220 it fit only with LGA 1150 Motherboards? or any other sockets as well?

Expecting your earlier reply. I want the best and cheaper suggestions to reduce my cabinet size. Ofcourse if my "dream project- mini ITX" comes to reality, those items I am going to eliminate will come for sale in TE :).. Also open to any used smaller size cabinet and motherboard that can fit Pentium G3220

Thanks,
Partha

You have to change the Cabinet, PSU and Motherboard as well.
Don't go with PSU's that come along with the Cabinet.
Corsair VS Series uses crap capacitors that doesn't last long. So change that immediately.OK.

Go with the following components for a mITX form factor:
Bitfenix Prodigy-M Cabinet,
Antec VP500PC PSU,
ECS H81H3-I Mini ITX MB.

OK.... I have a guy to bring mini ITX mobo from USA. Thought of ordering https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81IPLUS/ there. Though I will loose on warranty. Shall I ?

My usage is going to be HTPC mainly. Won't the 150 W PSU that comes with ANTEC ISK 300-150 case enough?
I am having cooler master N200, which I am thinking it is bulky. Bitfenix prodigy seems to be a mATX cabinet as well. Looking for a small and sleek cabinet like ANTEC ISK 300-150 or even http://www.ebay.in/itm/Mini-Case-Mi...452879?hash=item2a5a59ad0f:g:uKkAAOSwDFNWFNGr , but don't know what PSU will fit in? will Antec VP500PC fit in this local case?

Don't have much options for mini ITX cases or mobo in india, online or in my local city. Have to rely on ANTEC ISK 300-150 or that local case from ebay. Any other options available?[DOUBLEPOST=1449080783][/DOUBLEPOST]found this Circle Lil Case ... fits my 3,5" HDD and mATX motherboard as well...

The only real answer here is to Mod it! A simple plain case is not difficult to build from scratch.
But just how small do you want your case to be? I don't think that you'll need to change the motherboard. You only need a smaller case without multiple slots/drive bays.
I was also on the look out for a smaller-sized psu a few years ago and found a Silverstone model. Your main problem now will be the budget. Sourcing the psu from abroad.
If you really one a custom case modded we have some members here who have done some case mods. I might also be able to do it. Just need the materials to work with.

As of now I cant spend lot of time on this. am going to buy Antec minuet "(with PSU)and take my set up into that.
having higher priority issues that I need to concentrate upon. Will take help from you or others in future.

Antec ISK 310 is a decent case and that 150W PSU can run a quad core with a dedicated gpu. I have been running an asus h77 itx, i5 2400, galaxy GTX 730 GPU and a pair of drives (ssd+hdd) on that psu since 2012. Had a different gpu earlier, changed to the gtx 730 around a year ago. It's running perfect - touch wood.

Unlike the crap PSUs that come with most cases, this one is pretty damn good. The PC is inaudible from my couch. I use madvr so the GPU is running at 100% all the time - so the psu is definitely under some sort of stress.
