yup its an internal. I have no idea of the buffer. My dealer receives stock day after. Seagate is all he knows and understands

+ I still dont understand how much of a diff any buffer size puts on everyday performance anyway

those are 32mb buffer...SMC quoted me 5900 (all inclusive) today for same

Did you check from the ground level shop or from the 1st floor shop ?

I checked from 1st floor, where Pappi and Gurmeet sits...they quoted me 6100 but with some hagging they dropped down to 5900

err the 1tb drive mentioned here is also 3.5" internal imo...

Yes that is 3.5" one , 2.5" 1TB would be over 10k for sure , if the 2.5" 500MB is 7.7k currently.

The max for 2.5" is 500Gb currently. Consumer drives of course

techie_007 can u just ask the dealer if the dealer can match the 1tb seagate one with 1tb external one of maxtor.ie I am asking if he can give 1tb maxtor for 5800 or 5900.
