You will definitely not gain international exposure from those unis as the majority of students there will be from south Asia and China.

Exactly you will get only Indian and Chinese exposure even though ur in UK taught by an American.

MBA doesn't teach you how to do a business, one cant boast saying i did MBA off i go to start a business thats foolishness.MBA just teaches you how to tackle issues in a already setup business( this is my personal experience).

If you are really serious about starting up a business / improving a existing business, do MBA from good universities work for a while say 3 to 5 years gain experience then achieve your dream.

OP we can give you information/guidance on choosing a university but if u have make up your mind to study in UK in one of the polytechnics , we cant do much go ahead have fun and yeah do not repent and do not blame anyone.

When you come to know about the reality mark mine and Amaresh words you will see only Indians and Chinese in those universities at MBA level.

FYI, I'm at UCL and there seems to be a high proportion of South East Asians and Chinese people here (1/3 of my class) but hardly any Indians - that I know, anyway. However, a close friend is at Sheffield and according to what I've heard from him most of the people there are from India & Pakistan.

In the end, if you only want to help with your family business, I would suggest working for a while before getting the MBA - what's the rush anyway?

The problem with everyone going for MBA is that out education system is screwed up ,folks just out of graduation are allowed to do MBA and once out of MBA they want to start up a business and want themselves to see in the TIME magazine :|.

Thats what i am also expecting from the course.. I wont be starting a new business or something just after the MBA. i will be joining the already setup family business...

BTW off topic, which course can someone from non technical background do ?

MBA international business ?
i think MBA in general management would be the best bet, else u can go for Specializations like project management or some universities have specializations for technical people like MBA engineering management offered by Coventry university

Its absolute waste now for people who want to do MBA & work in UK. No more PSW Visa.

OP has family business but then if you have already 2 backlogs/fails, then dont expect admission on top uni given here. Whatever you are getting go for it :)

I also thought the same before applying to almost 25 universities, of course many of the top universities rejected , but not because of my poor acadamecis, its because of lack of work experience, and they clearly mentioned it.. MBA is not gonna be a PG just after the UG any more i guess..

I was so sad the day I had heard this news, Stupid British Government :(

Agree with you bro.

4 of my friends scrapped the plan of UK MBA. They moved to US & Aus. AUS gives you PR so easily ;)

MBA costs around 20-25 lakhs in UK in a good school, Students take huge loan to do & can not work there coz no more PSW. They will come back to India & pay this 20 lakhs loan for lifetime.

UK has become one of the worst destination for students & immigrants due to new change in Laws.

People who have already worked there on Tier 1 are coming back to India as they are rejecting ILR for silly reasons.

Guys... i got an offer letter from Uni of Glasgow just now.. its ranked 12th as per guardian rankings.. shud i go for it?

AFAIK University of Glasgow is a pretty good university since you are bent up on going to UK it doesn't matter which uni it is.No post study work visa is cr@p, instead of blowing Pounds i would prefer blowing up USD :P.

OP dont tell me after MBA i will not work and would come back and do business saying this because book knowledge is not equal to real time experience.

Guardian reviews are for overall score of university and not pertaining to Management Studies.
