Still a very high price for privacy matters. Most of them doesn't even care.They charge 199 INR per year. So that's 9950 INR for next 50 years of subscription.
Don't be greedy. It's a competitive world out there. If they give you that offer, accept it. Think .. if they did a pricematch with you on the recent TRAI fiasco .. where it was all for none
The other day, I was interviewing a technical architect for a position at our company. He has 14 years of work experience and claimed to be expert in Java server programming, Web services and REST.
I asked him how he would secure a website or Web service handling sensitive data and what he knows about SSL/TLS and he tells me that he has no clue as he has never bothered with it, but he was pretty damn sure that its an unnecessary headache and is not needed at all. He also tells me that over his entire career and expert programmer and architect, he has never used SSL/TLS for any of the web services and websites that he built (which must automatically mean that its not useful) and he has secured all his stuff using the much more secure approach of token based authentication of the user. Yeah, over PLAIN HTTP that is.
I asked him that if he has a login form on his website, how he is going to send username and password to his backend for this authentication and he goes on to explain there two approaches which being that he will either pass it as query params for the login web API or set it as form data.
Maybe gaana.com has programmers or architects of the same breed working for them.

I did not know GT Section is accessible to anyone, earlier it was private sub forum only for users with some posts/karma. As of now I have edited the details from OP. Once this is fixed, I will update again.
