Media Player Anti-aliasing.

Why is that Watching Movies in Windows media player feels like like watching more quality video as compared to VLC or KMP(Worst of them all- Jaggy). Does WMP antialiases the video or something of that kind?
 
First of all, start off with the highest resolution and highest quality source possible. Use madVR renderer. Choose Softcubic as your resizer for minimal aliasing.
 
Just install Klite Mega codec pack. It will install all the codecs. Choose the 7th option called "Lots of stuff with player" Then u will get a Classic player and all the newest and best codecs around. Then Install GOM player and ur done.!
 
Klite mega codec pack with MPC is good, always gives lot better quality than VLC and compatibility than WMP. The haali and EVR custom preset renderers are really good.

Thats good too but Nothing can beat GOM for its simplicity and control!!
 
From what i have experienced the windows media player gives smooth output as to other players.
This is fine in low bitrate videos.
When in high bitrate the other player provides a better sharper video output.
Also from what i have observed the cpu utilisation is high during video playback in windows media player than other players who utilise the gpu for giving the video output.
Personally i prefer now the splayer with it minimal settings, gpu acceleration settings and much better looking UI.

Will let you know the settings later.

the video settings i have enabled areto enable video levels,deinterlace,sharpen complex, and HD color correction.

also enabling Smart HQ. resizer.

well try to tick on 3rd 6th 8th and 10th option as well as last option in HD tag :p
 
Just checked out Lav Cuvid filter(uses nvidia accelerator - doesnt work with ati cards) + madVR renderer

better than dxva and way ahead of ffdshow(in terms of cpu utilization)
