Media Player Classic and subtitles

MPC needs to be set to use the VMR7 and VMR9 renderers in order to display subtitles, but the video colours are noticeably washed out when using these compared to the Overlay Mixer (which doesn't display subtitles).

Any workarounds that won't have me sacrifice vibrant colours just for subtitles?

VLC isn't an option since I have to manually load subtitles in that + the subtitles themselves appear tiny and jaggy.

Ah, I kinda wanted a workaround that didn't involve switching to another player.

Does KMPlayer come with a skin to match the Windows Classic look?

1 more vote to kmplayer....just use it once...u will never need another player...

u can even configure winamps' DFX to work with this,,,^_^

I use classic..but recently have been having issues with video quality.i installed the new nvidia drivers and the issues started after that..i reverted to old driver but still the default renderer is all messed up.The colors are all screwed...

going to give KMP a try..

I have all the right codecs, only the colours are washed out when using the VMR7/9 renderers in MPC (which are needed for subtitling).

Colours are ok in other players but I figured maybe there was a workaround for MPC so I wouldn't have to use other players.

That's a known issue. Just open your Colour Correction panel and hit the 'Restore Defaults' button.

Right click on Km Player , go to video advanced option and there set the video quality to Higest ( above 2ghz ) You will see a Gr8 difference in video quality ! :)

saumil use DirectVobsub as i had suggested earlier.
Just saw your earlier post, all those links made me mistake it for a Google ad.
TE needs to stop displaying ads IN BETWEEN posts.

And thanks, that's exactly what I needed. Repped :)

As for display quality, it's more or less the same across all players, even MPC as long I use the overlay mixer.

i use powerDVD 6 and now 7 for great sound.
i love effects this software can produce and could not find any software making such powerful base plus effects without making so much distoration in sound.

even for listening mp3 i use powerDVD.
let me try this kmplayer and compare..

Yea Powerdvd has some nice fake surround sound effects.

You can use the Cyberlink sound codec in MPC; Best of both worlds - MPC's interface & functionality + Powerdvd's sound.
