You should then go and ask xtreamer why they don't say they support AC3 completely , if you can find the answer let me know.

Till then peace !

Do you understand what is meant by bit-streaming? JFYI that statement does not imply that the Xtreamer does not "support AC3 completely".

Bit-streaming simply means transmitting the audio stream of the media file from the source (the Xtreamer in this case) to the receiver (that decodes it) without modifying the stream. The receiver must be capable of accepting and decoding the signals over spdif or HDMI - AC3, DTS, DTS-HD MA or Dolby Tru HD. Only HDMI can transmit the HD audio signals i.e. the last two.

Media players from the other manufacturers such as AC Ryan, WDTV, Asus follow similar protocols for the audio transmission. None of these players have 6 or 8 RCA female sockets for the decoded signals to be fed to the receiver for amplification.

where to get the xtreamer from? does it come with local warranty?

From the official distri and yeah comes with local warranty.

Xtreamer India ::

PS: I got myself a POHD Essential for FLAC support. Paid Rs. 5350 inc. of shipping. Best part is this media player has 2 digital outputs which only the high-end models have. One can be fed to the AVR and the other to the DAC. :P

Thank you guys for all your input, i went on for a demo for evotv and i really liked the product so brought it,
here is a summary of my demo experience and few hrs of it's usage at home.

Demo Experience
I called Amkette Demo Team so that I can see what really is evotv. The Demo Experience was great if was asked in one word.
Checklist before the evotv demo –
1. HDD – 1TB WD External USB 2.0 – Having loads of movies, from 1080p to 1080p rips, as well as in many formats, I took all possible formats that I had.
2. A Smartphone with DLNA
The demo started by showcasing the box. They say the box as evobox. It’s a square black box and the size would fir my palm easily. It was actually smaller then what I expected.
The box had 4 usb independent ports, 1 hdmi ouput and 1 s/pdif output as well as audio videos ouput which I guess not many people would use.
Anyways the box looked nice and the demo started and I was wondering how would this box be controlled, so the box booted (mind you the box doesn’t have any on/off buttons.)
The box booted under 2 minutes and then they showcased me the remote, which looked even more smaller than shown in their pictures and had not many buttons but few things that the remote had which I’m writing for you down
1. The remote works in 360 degree direction, line of sight not required
2. It is a touch to move mouse, you don’t touch the capacitive button at the back and it doesn’t move
3. Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons
4. Gaming Mode Button (for faster movements)
5. Inbuilt Battery
6. Inbuilt Mic (which I think is a awesome feature) and much more which I will tell you in detailed later
So let’s start with the demo, the box booted up in 2 minutes then came the setup screen under which it guides how to start the remote as well as how to set the tv screen size, so that full display can be experienced. It was simple and easy to understand
The main screen had Tiles like User interface and there were total 6 of them, these were actually like the home screens we have in our Android Phones. These were default homescreens but if I didn’t liked it I could change them if wanted to.

Experienced Few basic things like web browsing, which was butter smooth. Youtube Viewer which was gain a very good thing as there were many popular tv shows from different channels and one can watch them anytime they wants if it is there, I thought this would be a good feature that my mummy would like.
Then came to multimedia content and time to check if it can read my 1 tb hdd or not, it did very smoothly and I was playing content through it, It played almost all the formats from 1080p files to blue ray files. So decided to take it on.
On the downloading front I downloaded few files and they were giving good speeds.
Then came the best part, they showed me how can I play angry birds on my tv, which in my opinion a very good experience and experienced many more games.
One thing I could say is that this tiny little remote is more powerful then the box itself.
So I decided to buy it for 9995/- INR
This was just a demo experience and more would be coming soon once I get to experience more of it.
Note : DLNA did work but not with my phone, but they did showed the same by Nokia 800, Galaxy s3, S2 and Nexus

would write a full fledged review with it's cons too in a few days.
